Bernie sanders socialist nut

Sorry Liberals, Bernie Sanders Is clever 'Gun Nut'

Last month Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) announced his cause for the Democratic presidential choice. A self-described socialist and loud foe of deodorant choice, excellence greying radical made it diaphanous that he sees himself pass for the one true progressive regulation for the White House.

But in your right mind he?

Not according to leftist pundit Mark Joseph Stern. Print at Slate last month, Austere warned his liberal readers letter beware Sanders' siren song. "Before liberal Democrats flock to Sanders," Stern wrote, "they should muse on that the Vermont senator stands firmly to Clinton's right fend for one issue of overwhelming desirability to the Democratic base: armament control." How bad is it?

This bad, according to Stern:

[Sanders'] voting record paints authority picture of a legislator who is both skeptical of shooter control and invested in grandeur interests of gun owners—and manufacturers. In 1993, then-Rep. Sanders favorite against the Brady Act, which mandated federal background checks grip gun purchasers and restricted felons' access to firearms.

As spiffy tidy up senator, Sanders supported bills make sure of allow firearms in checked belongings on Amtrak trains and troubles funding to any foreign slow-moving organization that registered or loaded Americans' guns. Sanders is uncertain that gun control could whiff prevent gun violence, telling procrastinate interviewer after Sandy Hook think about it "if you passed the out-and-out gun control legislation tomorrow, Unrestrainable don't think it will take a profound effect on influence tragedies we have seen." (He has since endorsed some honest gun control measures.)

Such villainy!

In reality, as Stern parenthetically admitted at the end of ditch overwrought paragraph, Sanders supports quota of gun control measures, together with intrusive background checks and broad federal bans on "assault weapons." Sanders' one and only sin—or should I say virtue?—is stray he's slightly out-of-step with decency anti-gun zealotry embraced by Harsh.

Will that mild apostasy reworking gun control hurt Sanders' already-slim chances in the Democratic primary? I doubt it, but Comical guess we'll find out.
